Kern County Animal Services

Thank you for choosing to be a responsible pet owner and seeking to spay or neuter your pet. There are a number of options and programs available throughout the County and we have tried to compile these resources in one area to assist you in spaying or neutering your pet. These listings may change periodically, so please continue to check back for new information. These programs are designed to help pet owners by reducing the cost of the surgery so that as many pet owners as possible can take advantage of the programs. The County of Kern does not accept any responsibility for the quality of service or operation of programs other than those sponsored by the County, but provides this information as a public service.

There are 3 types of resources available to help pet owners by reducing the cost of the surgery:
    KCAS Low-Income Voucher Program
With a $20.00 co-pay you receive a voucher that covers the entire cost of spay/neuter for your pet at a participating Veterinarian. Limit 4 vouchers per person per lifetime.
Other vouchers to reduce the surgery cost; some of these can be used at any local vet, others only at specified local vets.
